Dead board is dead

Gretti hasn't been on in forever, Retsu is busy with NP, and I forget who the other admin is. Suggestions? If no one has a solution, I want admin. I bet I can fix the board up with some effort. =/

I am the other administrator here >.> and I've been busy with some irl issues as of late so I haven't been able to get on. Gretti is busy with school and apparently Retsu is busy with his other board. Activity is not completely based on the Admins and them bringing in all the members and activity. If you want the board to be active, bring in more of your friends, have them post or post topics that'll spike their interest. We do what we can to keep the board in order and looking good. We do, yes, bring in some of the activity and members, but we cant do it alone as we have lives to live outside of the internet.

I check the board like, every day. I never see you as having visited. =/

While that may be, the admins being active is huge in a board being successful. I don't expect you guys to ignore your duties to your lives outside of the internet, but if you can't maintain a moderate rate of activity then you should pass it to someone who can. Gretti is busy with school? Alright, well then she can't be expected to lead the board right now, can she? You and Retsu are more or less ignoring the board, so how can you guys be expected to lead, or to make any necessary edits to the board? You really can't be.

Oh, and you seem to think that just because I invite my friends to the board that'll increase activity. It really wouldn't. My friends have other boards that they are active at, boards where there are admins do more than make a sweep a week or so. >_>

strange im not getting in on this little debat/arguement here
but regardless of the state of the board
people who ask for a possition on the staff
usually completely destroy any chances they may have
origianly had, seeming desperate for power they may abuse
or completely not know how to use to begin with.
On my board you would have been flamed into shame...
However lack of activity here as of late has been astonishing
and is something that has to be dealt with...
i try my best to help out with bring new people in
but i also am pressed for time, and i wont bring somebody in
unless im sure they will be an active member
right now marios DR is experiencing the same kinda
down time as this board....... im at a loss :(

true, asking to be staff, especially straight up to administrator is kind of stupid because more than likely it hurts your chances. on top of that you dont know how my life works in person, so me rarely visiting isnt a factor here unless you can prove im doing nothing in person and have all the time in the world to spend my life online.

Now, if I remember correctly, whenever the board was closed, or was about to be closed, it was stated that if a member was willing to try and keep the place active, that one of the admins would've been up for giving it away. So yeah, call me power hungry if you wish, claim all your false claims if you wish, but I'm one of the members who would actually like to see this place up and running, and you know what? Wouldn't my requesting administration be more like offering to help, and actually do something, rather than just sitting back and inviting members who forget about the board in a matter of days?

Have I said anything relating to you not doing anything in person? No, I've said that the site looks as if it lacks leadership, since none of our admins are doing a damn thing on the board. Nor did I say that you should spend all your time online, what I did say is that if you can't be around too often, you should pass the torch to someone who can be more active. Doesn't that make sense to you? *Shrugs*

If someone is willing to do the job, then by all means do it. I'm simply saying that I'd rather put myself into a position to help (Which believe me, I really don't like being admin all that much. Really kind of tedious and annoying IMO) rather than letting the site whither without a visible leader.

Either way, this is how it goes: you post new stuff, I post back. We need to generate a bit of activity before bringing people in; nobody wants to see a dead board before they even register.

The sheer fact that me and Retsu didnt know you well enough to give up the admin position to you should be enough. Gretti is not only trustworthy but a great friend. If she really had the time to spend here on the board, I am 100% sure she could keep this place as active as any large board. My old board she brought in over 30 members in less than a month. If she gets the free time she can actually try to bring in more members, she can help maintain activity. As for me I am busy too irl and I cant be online all the time to keep the board active. You dont have to be an administrator to keep the board active. Bring in some popular friends of yours from other boards and have them bring in some of their friends and so on and so on. If you can manage to do this, you can help bring some activity in.

I would post more if there were some discussions and topics going on, but everytime i come in there is nothing of sort. I agree with K that admin position isn't needed to get and keep forum active. Just make topics that would engourage people to post, i would myself but never think of anything clever to make topics about.

Also L has point there. We need get activity back before thinking of getting new members because they most likely decide not to register when seeing mostly dead board.

I'm pretty sure that this same post contains the same information I would be using to make your current argument be not right. =/

Oh but I do have to say, I don't know. If Retsu doesn't know me well enough then it's because he and I have put forth little to no effort toward getting to know each other. He would most likely be willing to testify, however, that I am quite the responsible individual, as well as a good choice for a staff job, during times like this....

It's not the same really .. We need good topics leik back when we just started .. discussions were going on leik hell demons broke loose ..

..though I'm out of ideas .. anybody has good ideas just post ..

But with Retsu out, no one seems to really care .. people just come, take a look then leave ..

The problem is Retsu doesn't care about the board anymore. He's working on Nintendo planet, and hasn't got the time for DC, GR and NP.

I don't understand why you all keep talking about restu, he has another board to take care of now , as for activity .........theres only a handful of you who come here anymore and obv thats a problem ... now we can keep posting more topics and reply to them ...but will that really do much good if more members dont come? and how do you get more members, you advertise, how do you advertise? going on boards and telling people about the site.... generating others interest is also one of the keys we need, how do you generate interest?...thats a simple question to answer but a not so simple task to complete.

As for your demand to be admin, I don't understand if you want to help out then do it
